Introduction: The aim of the present study was to compare the effectiveness of Transactional Behavior Analysis and Emotional Efficiency Therapy on Meta-emotion and Psychological Resilience of patients with chronic pain.
Method: This study was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test-post-test design in two experimental and control groups with a two-month follow-up phase. The statistical population included patients with chronic pain referring to pain treatment centers in Isfahan in 1403. 45 people were selected by purposive sampling method and randomly assigned to three groups. The data collection tools were the Mitmansgruber Meta-Emotion Questionnaire (MEQ) and the Clough Psychological Resilience Questionnaire (MTQ). The first experimental group received eight sessions of transactional behavior analysis therapy and the second experimental group received eight sessions of emotional efficiency therapy. The control group was placed on a waiting list. Data were analyzed using SPSS-26 and multivariate analysis of variance.
Results: The findings showed that both interventions were effective in increasing positive Meta-Emotion and psychological resilience of women with uterine cancer at the post-test and follow-up stages (p<0.05), but only emotional efficacy-based therapy was effective in improving their negative Meta-Emotion. There was a significant difference between the two experimental groups in the effectiveness of the type of treatment on Meta-Emotion and psychological resilience of individuals, and emotional efficacy-based therapy was more effective.
Conclusion: It can be concluded that transactional behavior analysis therapy and emotional efficacy-based therapy are appropriate intervention methods for improving meta-Emotion and psychological resilience of women with chronic pain.
