Method: The present study was a descriptive-correlational study using structural equation modeling, and its statistical population was all18-19 year old students at Tabriz University, from whom 300 people were selected by cluster sampling. The research tools included the Beck Suicidal Ideation Questionnaire (BSSI), Bernstein Childhood Trauma (CTQ), Coping Strategies Questionnaire (CSQ), and Self-Differentiation (DSI). The data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and structural equation modeling.

Bootstrap results showed that there was a positive relationship between childhood trauma and suicidal ideation through problem-focused coping strategies, and a significant positive relationship was observed between childhood trauma and suicidal ideation through emotion-focused coping strategies, and there was a significant positive relationship between childhood trauma and suicidal ideation through self-differentiation.
